As I left the Cove today, I saw a guy on dept. store-looking bike. He was leaving the parking lot with a girl on a similar bike. I think he said something about wanting to ride some steep hills. (Lord knows, nothing impresses the babes like biking down a steep hill! Huh??? And no, that is not a double-entendre).
Anyway, the last thing he said as they rolled out of the lot was, "You know, my front brake works way better than my back brake." And I thought...ENDO!!! Poor guy.
I just saw ZZ Top on American Idol. Reminded me of the concert in Roanoke, last time they were here. Great concert. We brought people from the church. And so we could find each other, we actually wore church-branded shirts. Yeah, geeks. I remember some guys got behind us at the concert and kept blowing smoke into us from behind, trying to get us stoned on a contact high. ZZ Top on Idol (which I haven't watched this season) was cool- David Cook fronted the band. Sounded great.
So here's my thought- David Cook will lose. But I think ZZ Top should consider having Cook join the band. It would give Cook a jump-start on his career and restart an aging band. Just a thought.
OK- so I rode the Cove. Took a hit from the asthma inhaler first. Then my lungs burned for 45 minutes. But I was able to breathe.
Route: 4 Gorges, up to Jacob's Drop, down to Tuk-a-Way to Forest. Forest to Little Bell to Schoolhouse. Then fire road to Little Bell. Little Bell back to fire road, then back to parking lot.
Notes: Nice ride. Felt strong, but my left knee continues to be an issue.
- Lots of mosquitoes.
- Need new back brakes myself!
- Letting go on Jacob's Drop and taking it fast is a blast!
- Tuk-a-Way jump almost broke my back...yowch...
- Making extra time this very busy week has been nice. Wish it could last.
Dinner with son and wife. Tennis outside at the school with family for a little bit afterwards.
Lots of work tomorrow. Hope I sleep tonight.
Peace,
Brian

HEY! Glad you're feeling better. I think the bigger concern at the Cove is the crap not the bears. Seems the horseys had to poo alot where we were Tuesday. I still say they need giant pooper scoopers. :-) Gee, I wonder if the dude survived his ride, please tell me he was at least wearing a helmet.
